One of the best ports for the price from the classic 2000 vintage, this is killer stuff! Declared only in very good years, Silval Vintage Port is made in the traditional way. Having spent 18 months in oak cask the wine is allowed to develop in the bottle, it will throw a deposit and need decanting. The Silval Vintage combines power, complexity and concentration with a forward, fruity style making it approachable when quite young.

Superdark and powerful. Shows raisin, spice, coffee and violet aromas. Full-bodied, very chewy, with lots of grip and loads of fruit. Very long in the mouth. Outstanding young Port. Supervalue here. Best after 2012. 2,000 cases made.

A dense ruby/purple color is followed by sweet aromas of ripe black fruits. Not a blockbuster, Silval's 2000 is a full-bodied, elegant, soft, fleshy, accessible effort that should reach full maturity in 5-7 years, and last for 15-18.
